What is it about other people that intimidate you when sharing about Jesus? Is it their social status, cultural patterns, philosophical arguments or religious identity? Stop seeing people with “labels” – as if these things are the main problem to overcome, they are not. Labels breed fear, or feelings of intimidation.
The lostness problem
View people, even the wicked, as God’s perfect creation suffering under the sin and lostness problem. It’s a spiritual reality.
My story. “I was paralysed with unbelief that anything could happen in the Muslim world. Either through myself or through my initiatives with others. I was looking at the label and all it brought to mind and emotion. I figured the main problem to overcome in reaching this people group was their religion. The Lord convicted me of my unbelief and misguided focus which led to deep repentance.
Through this also came understanding, “stop seeing Muslims, as Muslims”. “See them for the spiritual reality they live in, creation unable to shake the problem of lostness”. I was set free from the intimidation of a label. My boldness level expanded significantly, along with leadership to bring many others into fruitful ministry in that world”.
- Lostness is a spiritual issue, a spiritual reality. Lostness separates people from the source of life and their original identity. They are God’s perfect creation suffering under the sin problem. Because of this have mercy not judgment, you will be free to love deeper and share Christ more widely.
- Holy Spirit works to reveal Jesus to lost people, not to Atheists, Muslims or Buddhists, etc. All have the same problem. They are overwhelmed and drowning in lostness, there is no distinction.
- You are working with the Lord to reach lost people. John 5:17, John 16:7-11.
